Frequently Asked Questions
Have a question for us? If so, then this page is an excellent place to look for the answer! Below, our team has answered some of the most common questions we get every day. Of course, if you have one that hasn’t been covered here, be sure to give us a call and just ask! We’re always happy to talk to you!
How often should I go to the dentist?
Dr. Moneyhun, as well as the American Dental Association, recommends that patients of all ages should attend at least two checkups and cleanings each year, or about one every six months. These routine appointments enable him to catch and treat minor issues before they can become major headaches, plus they can actually prevent the development of cavities and gum disease as well.
Can I bring my child to Parkside Dental?
Yes! We’re all about family here, so we’re more than happy to treat any little smiles you might have at home. Dr. Moneyhun is a father himself, so he’ll know just how to keep your child comfortable while he provides the age-appropriate services their growing smile needs. From toddlers to teenagers and everyone in between, we welcome children of all ages to our practice!
What should I do if I think I have a cavity?
If you’ve noticed any discoloration on one of your teeth or are experiencing some minor dental pain, then you should definitely give Parkside Dental a call. Your teeth, unlike other parts of your body, can’t heal themselves, so little issues like this will only get worse without professional intervention. Thankfully, we can easily fix a cavity with either a tooth-colored filling or custom-made dental crown, making it seemingly disappear.
Can you help with dental emergencies?
Yes! If you or a loved one have suffered an oral injury (such as a broken or knocked out tooth) or are experiencing a severe toothache, go ahead and give Parkside Dental a call, and we’ll be able to help right away. We’ll make sure you get the urgent care you need as quickly as possible and can schedule a same-day appointment if necessary!
How should I replace my missing teeth?
While this answer is different for every patient, our first recommendation to reverse any degree of tooth loss is usually dental implants. They are the only treatment that fully replicates a tooth both above and below the gum line, creating a result that is the next best thing to a real tooth both aesthetically and functionally. Even better, they can easily last for 30 years or more, making them an excellent long-term investment.
Will you take my dental insurance?
Parkside Dental welcomes all PPO dental insurance plans, and our team is ready to help you maximize your benefits at every visit. To learn how we can use your plan so you can save at your next appointment, give us a call today.
Is it possible to finance my dental care?
Yes! We accept payment plans from CareCredit, a third-party financier we have worked with for many years. Through our website, you can explore their different kinds of plans and even sign up for one—many of them have little to no interest!
